Get in the Picture! | Lehigh Valley Family Portraits | Lehigh Valley Photographer

As I sit here scrolling through social media on the evening of Mother's Day, I have been so inspired to write this post. I have seen so many beautiful images of mothers, grandmothers and children and my heart is so full. However, I have seen countless posts by adult children that "only have a few photos of mom" because "mom didn't like to get in photos."

I have also had countless conversations with mothers that say they aren't in many photos with their children because they don't like being in front of the camera. And I have to be honest with you- I am one of them. Pregnancy wasn't exactly easy on my body and it has definitely changed. Over the past four years, my hair has changed, my skin has changed, I've gained weight, and even changed shape. But let's be real- does any of this matter to my children?  No- what matters to them is that I am their mother and the moments and memories we create together.

Seeing these posts and having these conversations, in addition to the many Mommy & Me sessions I have had over the past month, have really hit home. I will now make a conscious effort to get in the picture with my children. I don't want them to look back and wish they had more photos with me. I encourage you to do the same! I'd love to capture the little moments between you and your children, so they could have these memories to look back on when they are adults instead of looking back and wishing they had more pictures with you.
